Mornings can be one of the most stressful parts of the day for busy families. Between school runs, work schedules, and getting everyone out the door on time, it’s easy for the start of the day to feel rushed. That’s exactly why VentureStart Breakfast Club exists.
Running from 07:40 to 09:00, term-time, at St John’s Catholic Primary School, VentureStart gives children — and parents — a calmer, more settled way to begin the day.
A healthy breakfast to fuel the morning
Every session starts with a nutritious breakfast. A good meal first thing helps children arrive in the classroom focused and ready to learn, rather than starting the day on an empty stomach.
Quiet games and creative activities
After breakfast, children can take part in quiet games, puzzles, and creative activities. Rather than a rushed handover between home and school, VentureStart offers a gentle buffer — time to wake up properly, settle in, and get into the right headspace for the school day ahead.
Relaxed social time
VentureStart is also a chance for children to see friends before the school day officially begins. That relaxed, low-pressure social time — chatting, playing, and settling in together — can make a real difference to how a child feels walking into their classroom.
A smooth, settled transition into school
The goal of every VentureStart session is simple: children leave breakfast club calm, fed, and ready — not rushed or unsettled. Staff are on hand throughout to make sure the transition from club to classroom is smooth and stress-free.
Who it’s for
VentureStart is open to all children at St John’s Catholic Primary School, from Nursery through to Year 6, and runs in a safe, school-based environment with trained, vetted staff.
